Healing mind, body, and spirit

We are spiritual beings first because we existed in spiritual form before we were born into the physical world. If we look at life this way, healing is a soul-centered approach. That is why we need to focus on healing spiritually along with the body and mind. Right Now! offers a roadmap to help treat someone with anxiety, depression, and/or suicidal thinking by focusing on all three aspects of life: mind, body, and spirit.

Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States. If someone you know is showing warning signs, it's important to take immediate action. If you are concerned that a person is thinking about suicide, contact appropriate resources and ensure your loved one has the number in their phone. Make an appointment with their primary care physician. Educate yourself on how to effectively talk to that person.

My story

In 2007, my oldest son, Josh, took his own life at age 21. He had been suffering from depression and anxiety for many years. I didn’t know anything about mental health issues at the time. We sought help from a psychiatrist, but Josh only got worse.

Unfortunately, the tragedy did not end there. My husband blamed himself for Josh’s mental illness since he also had suffered from depression his whole life. Counseling helped tremendously, but for two years I was sleepwalking through life. I started reading books about suicide, near-death experiences, spirit communications, and anything I could find to comfort me, to feel that Josh was okay in the spirit realm.

In 2011, my husband took his own life, and our family was devastated once more. I struggled again emotionally, but being very involved in my church and using the practices I had learned helped. I became interested in helping other people shift their thinking, but I had no idea how to do it; I was learning many strategies to help shift energy and thinking. Over 15 years after Josh’s death, I collected material from any source that could benefit mental health.

This book is an organized collection of that information I’ve learned along the way, plus current research. If I’d had the compilation of resources that you now hold in your hand, I may have been able to help Josh. With the strategies and practices in this book, you will be better informed about mental illness and how to help your loved one.
